Facebook Campaign makes a Little Village go Global

If you were to guess the most engaging Facebook Page you’re most likely to come up with brands and/or celebrity names, right? Here’s a surprise. One of the most engaging and creative Facebook campaigns belongs to a small mountain town in Switzerland by the name of Obermutten.

It all began with a simple idea which promised to print out every Facebook fan’s profile picture and get them posted on the village message board which turned massive and went worldwide, receiving national media attention too. Now more than 60 million people worldwide have now heard of Obermutten, traffic to the Graubünden tourism website is up 250 percent and the campaign cost of 10,000 Swiss francs reportedly brought in earned media of some 2.4 million francs.
