Nokia Lumia’s Augmented Reality Makes Australia ‘Step Up and Dance’

See the latest piece of the Nokia Lumia Campaign, an Augmented Reality Angry Birds Installation in Sydney (Australia) powered by Xbox Kinect. Its an interactive AR experience created by Fuel Communications and VML Australia in which the viewer can kick all the Angry Birds he likes. Pop sensation Timomatic also performed freestyle at the launch of the stunt.

The installation was triggered via an interactive mat filled with pressure sensors, while the Kinect was used to control the actual experience. The installation goes onto a multi-city roadshow over the next few weeks. Photographs from each event will be posted on Facebook where they can be downloaded and shared with friends. Nokia’s head of marketing, Jolaine Boyd, said, “Nokia Lumia is a completely new proposition from Nokia and getting people to experience and judge the phone for themselves is key.
 

“What we love about this stunt is that it allows people to experience some of the great features of the phone in a new and exciting way. Judging by people’s reactions, they were amazed and impressed by what they experienced today,” she said.
