Pinterest removes Invite Requirement

Pinterest today is the fastest growing social media website in the world of internet. The site is a virtual pinboard where members submit, organize and share the photos of their favourite things. The company just recently opened its doors to a wide range of users by lifting their invite only approach and shifted to open registration phase. Now users can sign up to the website using their email address, faceboook or twitter accounts. Prior to this a request for an invite had to be clicked in order to get a chance to be a part of the community.
In july 2012 pinterest also came up with a couple of interesting and useful additions to their already established website. The update was done keeping in mind the huge response pinterest already got and the new horizons it was very willing to explore. New categories were added and older ones tweaked so the categorical needs of the consumers be fullfilled. Some of them included “tattoos”, “weddings”, “quotes” etc. Some of the categories were fine tuned such as “prints and posters” to “illustrations and posters” and “pets” became “animals”.
Out of many new photo sharing websites popping all around like mushrooms, pinterest has managed to capture a lot more attention than its near rivals. To find out why, we would recommend you avail the open registration facility very soon.
