In 1984 Continental Biscuits Limited (CBL) in affiliation with Danone the french food giant launched ‘LU’. A biscuit brand consisting of various sub brands such as Prince, Gala and Candi. In 2007 the ownership changed and the Danone share of 49% was bought off by Kraft Foods USA.

Candi is the only brown sugar biscuit available throughout in the Pakistani sector, thus agressive marketing was needed and delivered 486687_10152536871865529_2121849656_nby ‘LU’ to popularize the new taste. The results were welcoming and made Candi a household name.

In February of 2010 Candi launched its official Facebook Page, and has gathered a massive following of a little short then 2,00,000 fans. To cater to their social media audience Candi is currently running a campaign called ‘khas mithas moment’. Fans who want to participate can upload their special moment pictures onto the ‘khas moment’ App and ask their friends to vote for them on that page. The results of this campaign are to be announced on the 24th of February 2013. The winners are entitled to a gift hamper and a chance for them to be on Candi billboards and print ads across the country. This has translated into healthy engagement for the page which secures their brand loyalty.
