Eeto Chips uses Ali Gur Pir to create Buzz on Facebook!

One of the new comers to the market is Eeto; a brand promising to bring you joyful snacks such as chips as waffers. The company is new and setting out on the track of social media marketing to promote their launch.

Eeto launched their Facebook Page in February 2013. With an aggressive marketing strategy and engaging content, the page has gathered 27, 000 fans. A good number for a start up, however, engaging, comment-seeking and shareable content will decide the fate of the page.

Recently, capitalizing on the song ‘Wadera Ka Beta‘ which is popular among the youth, the brand engaged Ali Gur Pir to perform at different colleges/universities in Pakistan. The videos of the performances are being posted on the page after almost every two hours, due to which the interaction with fans has been on the decline. Essentially  constant posting on the page is not doing much to increase the community’s virality. If this trend of low engagement continues in the same fashion, it may hurt the brand’s objective of associating itself with the youth as a happening and fun-filled snack.

The page is fairly new, and we do hope to see some thoroughly conceptualized effort put in particularly for digital media. Facebook currently has 8.8 Million users in Pakistan and over 60% of this comprises of Eeto’s target market: youth. Therefore, the opportunity which Eeto brings is immense and if the fan base is courted right, chances are high that the page will deliver the desired change in consumer perception and behavior, thus leading to a conversion in sales.
